David LaChapelle (born 1963) is an artist and photographer known for combining high-resolution photographs with social messages. LaChapelle’s photography career began in the 1980’s when he began showing his artwork in New York City galleries. LaChapelle’s striking photographs have been featured on the covers and pages of Italian Vogue, French Vogue, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone. He has also featured celebrities such as Madonna, Elizabeth Taylor, David Beckham, Leonardo DiCaprio, Muhammad Ali and Britney Spears in his work.
